    Chairman's Report

  • It has been another good year's football including a victory in the second 11-a-side against Old Mastonions. We have had only one bad injury (said with feeling by the chairman) and one member leaving (Gary Peart).
  • Steve Reilly was officially welcomed to the club.
  • Thanks were extended to the Secretary and Treasurer for the smooth running of the club
  • Neil is to try and arrange a return 11-a-side game against the Old Manstonions possibly on the 1st of September and Martin will try to organise another game with the medics.
  • Calvin's was congratulated on his record 8 PODS in one season.

    Treasurer's report

  • The Treasurer presented his report, cash flow statement, register report and itemised category report.
  • The Treasurer informed the meeting that the end of season the surplus was £78.00 (pre round of drinks).
  • Four balls (one large and fluffy), gloves and trophies were purchased over the year.
  • Fees of £4 were reduced to £3 at Christmas as the treasurer was 'awash' with money. For the coming season it was agreed to retain the current fees at £3 with a review of the situation at Christmas.
  • (financial statementto follow)

Election of officers for season 2003 / 2004

  • Chairperson - Martin Islip to continue for a further season.
  • Treasurer - Steve Nicholson to continue for a further season
  • Secretary – Steve Bates to continue for a further season.

    Player of the season award

  • The player of the season was confirmed as Calvin Field with 8 POD awards.
  • Runners-up was Dave S. with 5.

    Any other business

  • A debate was raised to discuss the purchase of new shirts. It was agreed that everyone pay £5 immediately and the balance to Geoff after he has purchased them.
  • A discussion took place on stricter refereeing especially with regard to deliberate fouls, but no conclusions were reached. The debate on the number one in the queue refereeing was raised again but no vote was taken. Any member in the queue was welcome to referee but this would have no influence on the positions in the queue.
  • The secretary asked that the emphases should be upon the members in the queue to confirm availability on a Thursday, otherwise if there is no reponse by Monday it would be assumed they were unavailable. Adrian was to look into an automated reminder from the website.
  • Geoff asked if everyone was happy for him to carry on picking the teams each week and it was agreed that the system was working well with an even spread of results over the year.
  • The meeting closed at 10:30 p.m.

    Minuted by Steve Bates, Secretary
